Being a kid isn’t easy, and most of us bear the emotional scars, large or small, to prove it.

Children and adolescents face particular challenges related to the intense feelings of uncertainly and dislocation that come with growth. For some, family disruptions such as death or divorce pose special challenges in the already difficult process of self-identification. For others, the pressures placed upon them by peers, school and commercial culture can seem overwhelming. Their relationships with their parents are crucial to how they meet these often underestimated challenges.

I offer flexible consultations with individual children and adolescents, with families and with teen groups to help young people confront the special difficulties they face. Every child has different needs: I can help both children and their parents find postive and effective ways of addressing them.
